Remember that businesses desire to hire individuals who are punctual, responsible and those who will represent their organization and businesses well.

When you are applying for a job, it is always in your best interest to include a cover letter (letter of introduction) and resume along with your employment application. You should dress nicely (business casual) when you deliver your application. If dropping off the application in person, ask for a hiring manager, so you have the opportunity to introduce yourself (unless otherwise noted in a job posting).

Job Concerns for Students

Working students need to be mindful.

The most money you will receive for college will come from the college(s). They look mostly at your transcript and your grades. Do not work too many hours and tank your grades/GPA.
Your yearly tax income and your assets (checking & savings) will impact your FAFSA or ORSAA.
FAFSA/ORSAA will ask for the tax income from two years prior to the filing. For example, a 24/25 FAFSA will use 2022 tax information for both the parent(s) and student.
Students who may qualify for FREE federal grant money or state grant money need to not work so much as to work their way out of this free money.
Middle to high-income students who will not qualify for FREE federal or state aid might still qualify for need-based aid at very generous schools.
