Howard Vollum Scholarship

To assist American Indian students planning to enroll full-time in an undergraduate or graduate course of study in STEM.  Applications accepted November 1 -March 1 for the upcoming academic year.  

To apply for the Howard Vollum Scholarship, complete the Office of Student Access and Completion (OSAC) Application.

Verl and Dorothy Miller Native American Vocational Scholarship

To apply for the Verl and Dorothy Miller Native American Vocational Scholarship, complete the OSAC Application.

Oregon Tribal Grant

The Oregon Tribal Student Grant provides funding for eligible Oregon tribal students to offset the cost of attendance at eligible Oregon colleges and universities.

 UO Home Flight Scholars Program

The University of Oregon (UO) program supports long-term success of Native American students residing in Oregon. The Home Flight Scholars program is available immediately to current enrolled eligible undergraduate students and includes financial aid and address retention, graduation and professional development of students. Through a combination of federal, state and institutional grants, the Home Flight Scholars Program covers full tuition and fee costs, provides an academic advisor, offers mentorship opportunities and develops a culture-rich program for new students to help them launch successful academic careers.

STEP-UP Summer Research Opportunity

NIH High School STEP-UP is a nationally recognized program that connects underrepresented students with local institutions and mentors to gain firsthand research experience. This is a paid opportunityl—imited to high school juniors and seniors—that introduces students to local professional, collegiate-level settings where they will create and conduct their research, garnering essential experience before they enter college. Deadline to apply is February 15.

Konaway Nika Tillicum

An overnight camp for motivated Native American students completing grades 7-12.

We have an in-depth American Indian/Alaskan Native library of books written by and about Native Americans for all reading levels. Both fiction and non-fiction books are available as resources for students, their families as well as educators within the district. We also have, in limited supply, books we can offer to families from our library to encourage NEP students to read more!

Family nights and tutoring are a regular events held on Thursday evenings.

Evenings begin with a simple dinner at 6 p.m. Classes are from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and include activities for students from Pre-K through 12th grade and adults. Each evening will end with a book given to each student in attendance.

The NEP Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) is essential for the NEP program and its Title VI Federal funding. Each year, the PAC plays a crucial role in developing the Title VI grant and NEP activities, providing leadership and insight to ensure culturally responsive support for NEP students.
